One of the things I’m most excited about this year is expanding passport acceptance services throughout Clark County. I know that might not sound as romantic as wedding celebrations, but here’s why it matters to me: freedom of movement is a form of love too. When couples can easily get their passports in Clark County, they can travel together, explore the world, and build memories across borders.
I think about what passports represent. They’re documents that enable adventure, connection with family abroad, business opportunities, and the simple joy of seeing new places with the people you love. When we make it easier for people to get passports, we’re not just processing paperwork. We’re enabling dreams.
Historically, passport services have required travel downtown or dealing with complex systems. We heard from residents and visitors that they wanted more accessible options. So we’ve worked to expand our passport acceptance services to multiple locations throughout Clark County. This means that whether you live in the northwest, the southeast, or anywhere in between, you have a convenient option for getting your passport application started.
This initiative reflects my core belief about what government should do: we should meet people where they are, make services as accessible as possible, and respect people’s time. Not everyone can travel downtown. Some people work long hours. Some have childcare challenges. Some are visiting Las Vegas and want to handle their passport quickly while they’re here. We’re committed to serving all of those people.
The expanded passport services also support our tourism and business community. When visitors can easily access passport services, they feel welcome. When businesses can help their employees handle passport applications without lost productivity, everyone benefits. These seem like small things, but they add up to a more efficient, more responsive county government.
