February reminds us of something I’ve always believed: love is at the heart of everything we do here in Clark County. Whether you’re a longtime resident or visiting from across the world, Las Vegas has always been a place where love stories begin, flourish, and are celebrated in the most unforgettable ways.
As I reflect on the couples who’ve chosen to marry here during this beautiful month, I’m struck by the diversity of their stories. Some come to us with careful, detailed plans—a specific chapel, a favorite song, a dream location. Others arrive with spontaneity and joy, deciding in the moment that Las Vegas is where their forever will start. Both approaches are equally valid, equally beautiful, and equally welcome in our community.
What draws people to Las Vegas for love isn’t just the glittering lights or the iconic venues, though those certainly don’t hurt. It’s the permission we give people to celebrate openly, to be themselves, and to mark one of life’s most important moments on their own terms. Here, you can have a ceremony that reflects exactly who you are, without judgment or expectation.
I’ve had the privilege of serving as your Clerk for many years now, and in that role, I’ve witnessed some of the purest expressions of love and commitment imaginable. I’ve seen couples who’ve been together for decades renew their vows. I’ve seen young people taking that first leap into marriage. I’ve seen interfaith ceremonies, same-sex unions, ceremonies in six languages, and celebrations of every kind. Each one represents a choice—a conscious decision to say ‘I choose you,’ right here in Las Vegas.
This month, I want to honor all of you who’ve married here, who are planning to marry here, or who are simply in love and celebrating that bond. Our city wouldn’t be what it is without your stories, your joy, and your commitment to each other. You’re not just building families—you’re building the community that makes Las Vegas thrive.
Love never goes out of season in our city. It’s February, Valentine’s Day is here, and the Clark County Clerk’s Office is ready to help you celebrate however you wish. That’s what we’re here for.
