Dear Friend,
Government should work for the people it serves. Simple idea. Not always simple in practice. You asked for good government. I delivered.
When I took office in 2015, I made one promise: to work every day to make the county better for its constituents. I’ve kept that promise. And I’m not finished.

My Record
What We’ve Built Together
- “Not on my watch,” was my response to the decades-long decline in wedding tourism. This globally recognized legacy industry helped transform our dusty frontier town into one of today’s premier international destinations. Weddings support over 18,000 jobs, hundreds of small businesses and drive approximately $3 billion a year in local economic impact throughout the community. Weddings are part of our DNA. Let’s never lose that.
- Meeting Constituents where they are. State law allows up to five branch offices. I opened a branch in Mesquite, expanded the hours in our Henderson office, successfully fought to keep our Laughlin office open and launched a pop-up marriage license bureau at the airport. Next?
- Passport services shut down across the county during COVID; I opened them back up . In a city that never sleeps, I wanted to make it easier for workers to get their passports. I opened two passport locations including the Marriage License Bureau walkup hours for up to 10 p.m. daily, 365 days a year. We went from issuing zero passports in 2021 to 173 passports in 2022 to 8,047 passports in 2025.
- 117 years of historical records were scattered throughout multiple organizational models, multiple formats and multiple medium. Outdated; hard to find; organized in different ways under 100 years of clerks who oversaw rapidly changing technology. We are bringing it all together into a centralized database using the latest technology to make it easier for you to understand what your government is doing in your name.
